This artefact exists in darkness. In distant regions where light does not naturally occur, the snake lines are shaped into forms that can sustain presence. The elevated light is not a lure, but a necessity — a fragile extension that allows the creature to orient itself within an otherwise undefined field. It does not seek to attract. It seeks to remain. The body stays low, close to the ground, conserving stability, while the light reaches upward — not as a signal to others, but as a minimal condition for existence. What gathers around it is incidental. Its purpose is to endure.
